MOORPARK, Calif. – Competing in their home Regals Invitational at Moorpark Country Club, the Cal Lutheran women's golf team turned in a solid performance, finishing third overall while celebrating Senior Day for
Maya Dela Rama,
Kaylie Hesse,
Victoria Ruiz, and
Harlee Samp.
The Regals posted a two-round total of 639 (+63), carding a 318 (+30) in Monday's opening round and a 321 (+33) on Tuesday. Cal Lu finished behind No. 4 Pomona-Pitzer and No. 33 Occidental in the competitive field.
Leading the way for the Regals was
Caroline Morris, who tied for seventh at +10. Morris delivered a steady tournament, opening with a 76 (+4) before following with a 78 (+6) to secure a top-10 finish.
Anna Poulin also turned in a strong showing, tying for 12th at +14. After an 82 (+10) in the first round, she bounced back with a 76 (+4) on Tuesday.
Brooke Alderson opened the tournament with a 76 (+4) and went on to finish tied for 14th at +18, while Dela Rama finished tied for 20th at +21.
Lily Stern rounded out the scoring lineup, placing 30th at +29.
Cal Lutheran also saw several individuals compete in the home event. Ruiz tied for 12th at +14, Hesse finished tied for 20th at +21,
Julia Booth placed 28th at +28, and Samp finished 36th at +37.
The Regals now turn their attention to their next competition at the UC Santa Cruz Invitational, set for March 28-29 at Pacific Grove Golf Links.
