DUPONT, Wash. – Cal Lutheran women's golf turned in its best team finish of the young fall season this week, placing third at the Pacific Lutheran Invitational at The Home Course.
The Regals finished with a two-round score of 60-over-par, carding a 28-over 316 in the opening round before shooting 32-over in the second round.
Caroline Morris led the way individually, placing second in a field of 60 golfers at 8-over-par. The junior opened with a 6-over 78 before putting together an impressive 2-over 74 in the second round to climb the leaderboard.
Anna Poulin followed closely behind in third place at 10-over-par. Poulin fired a 2-over 74 in the opening round before finishing with an 8-over 80 in the second.
Julia Booth tied for 15th at 20-over-par, followed by
Lily Stern in a tie for 20th at 22-over. Stern improved by four strokes from her opening-round 85, carding an 81 in the second round.
Natalie Jones rounded out the Regals' lineup in a tie for 35th at 35-over-par. The freshman showed significant improvement in the second round, shaving seven strokes off her opening-round score with an 86.
Cal Lutheran competed against nine other teams at the tournament, including Redlands, Pacific, Occidental, Whitman, Puget Sound, Pacific Lutheran, Linfield, South Puget Sound and Willamette.
The Regals will close out the fall season October 12-13 at the Hollins Cup, hosted by UC Santa Cruz at Pasatiempo Golf Course.
