LONGVIEW, Texas – The Cal Lutheran women's golf team delivered a dominant performance this week, capturing the team championship while also claiming shares of the individual title at the FST Crossing Creeks Invitational held Monday and Tuesday in Longview, Texas.
The No. 31-ranked Regals finished atop the team standings with a two-round total of 619 (+51), highlighted by a balanced lineup and a standout showing from
Anna Poulin and
Caroline Morris, who tied for first place individually at +11 for the tournament.
Cal Lutheran's victory was further emphasized by the Regals' top two finishers outperforming No. 25-ranked individual Kinley Pessel of host LeTourneau, who finished tied for third.
Poulin opened the tournament with a 3-over 74 in the first round, turning in a steady card that featured consistent play across both nines. She followed with a 79 in the final round to secure a share of the individual title.
Morris also finished at +11 after rounds of 77 and 76. She improved in the second round with a 76, highlighted by a birdie on the par-3 15th that helped propel her into a share of the tournament lead.
The Regals placed four golfers inside the top 10, led by
Brooke Alderson, who tied for fifth at +14 after rounds of 76 and 80.
Maya Dela Rama added another top-10 finish, tying for seventh at +15 with rounds of 76 and 81.
Lily Stern rounded out the scoring lineup with a 17th-place finish at +26, while Tori Ruiz tied for 22nd.
Cal Lutheran returns to action next week when it hosts the Regals Invitational on March 16-17 at Moorpark Country Club, which will also serve as the program's senior match.
