PALMDALE, Calif. – Cal Lutheran women's golf competed in the SCIAC #2 this weekend at the par-73 Antelope Valley Country Club. The Regals finished 4th of seven teams.

Coming off a 5th-place finish up at Pacific Grove the weekend prior, the Regals were looking to repeat the quality golf that they played in the SCIAC #1 back in late February. Cal Lutheran finished 3rd in that tournament as Anna Poulin claimed 3rd individually.

ROUND ONE
Poulin led the Regals in round one on Saturday, knocking in 12 pars and a birdie on the par-3 hole 17. She rode an even-par back-nine to a total of 77, putting her tied for 6th individually after the first day.

Caroline Morris dropped in pars on each of the first six holes, eventually tallying 11 pars and a birdie on the par-5 hole 14. She played consistent golf throughout the day en route to a 78, placing her tied for 9th individually.

Maya Dela Rama had a busy scorecard in the opening round, bogeying the first two holes before birdying two of the next four, leading to a 1-over front-nine to lead the Regals. She dropped in another birdie on hole 14, but a brutal quad-bogey on the ensuing hole contributed to her total score of 80.

Brooke Alderson and Ashley Zook each shot 81s on the round, as Alderosn birdied hole 14 while Zook birdied the par-5 hole 18.

The Regals sat at +24 after round one, good enough for 4th-place entering day two.

ROUND TWO
Poulin once again led the Regals in round two, dropping in two birdies on par-5 holes 4 and 10 en route to a 79. She didn't suffer anything worse than a bogey in all 36 holes of the tournament, playing mistake-free golf throughout.

Alderson and Zook mirrored each other again, with both scoring a 41 on the front-nine and a 39 on the back. Alderson birdied hole 14 for the second consecutive day, and Zook birdied the par-4 hole 16. They each added 10 pars.

Morris and Dela Rama each finished with an 82 but with different paths. Morris knocked in two birdies on hole 4 and the par-3 hole 11, but she only managed six pars on top of those. Dela Rama sunk nine pars along with nine bogeys.

Despite finishing with the 5th-best score in round two, the Regals were able to hold on to 4th-place through 36 holes. Poulin's tournament score of 10-over tied her for 8th individually on the weekend.

Cal Lutheran will now gear up for the SCIAC Championships a few weeks from now at Costa Mesa Country Club from April 27-29.
