CLAREMONT, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's cross country competed at the SCIAC Championships on Saturday morning in the 8K, finishing ninth as a team with 273 points across its 11 participants.
Tristan Kanner set a personal best, and three additional Kingsmen set course bests at Pomona-Pitzer.
Daniel Velasquez ran the fastest time of all Cal Lutheran runners at 28:27.20, a course-best time for him and 76th individually in the race. Kanner finished with a personal best of 29:26.50.
Thomas Illson (30:51.50) and
Quintin Wilson (34:55.00) both set course bests.
Cal Lutheran's next race will be yet another at the Pomona-Pitzer course for the NCAA West Regionals on November 15. The Kingsmen can send a maximum of seven runners to compete.
