KANSASVILLE, Wisconsin – Cal Lutheran men's golf finished tied for fifth in the 2024 Midwest Regional Classic. The Kingsmen shot 1-over as a team in the second round, giving them a score of 6-over on the tournament.

DAY ONE
Cal Lutheran men's golf kicked off the Midwest Regional Classic on Friday morning at Brighton Dale Golf Links. The Kingsmen are one of 44 teams hosted by Benedictine University in Kenosha County, Wisconsin. Juniors Blake Fitzhugh, Jot Singh, and Hudson Solters led the team with scores of 2-under, even, and 2-over, respectively. Adam Cartozian and Jacob Fox rounded out the card at 5-over each.

The shot of the day took place on hole eight, where Solters struck gold with his 5-iron from 200 yards out. It was the first hole in one of his career. After going 3-over through the first two holes, Solters settled in with 5 consecutive pars before dropping it in from the tee box. He finished with a 37 on both the front and back nines of the par-72 course.

Blake Fitzhugh continued his hot start to the season, going 2-under on the day. He had an impressive seven birdies and seven pars. Fitzhugh birdied all four par-5s, finishing with a sixth-best individual score of 70.

Jot Singh played consistent golf, shooting even on the day without any double bogeys or worse. He rode four birdies and ten pars to a top-20 individual finish.

The Kingsmen sit in sixth place as a team at 5-over with one more day to go. At only four strokes back from the lead, a good day tomorrow could move Cal Lutheran to the top of the leaderboard. The Midwest Regional Classic continues tomorrow morning at 6:30am PT.

DAY TWO
On Saturday, the Kingsmen were led by Junior Adam Cartozian as he shot 4-under on the par-72 course. Cartozian eagled the par-5 second hole and followed that up with 13 pars and three birdies to only one bogey, giving him a 34 on both the front and back nines. He finished tied for 17th individually for the weekend at 1-over.

Tying Cartozian's combined score of 1-over was teammate Jot Singh. He followed up his even-par on Friday with a score of 1-over on his second round. He had two birdies in the front nine and one in the back nine, giving him a 36 and 37, respectively.

As an encore to his hole-in-one yesterday, Hudson Solters shot 1-over on Saturday highlighted by an extremely consistent 16 pars. He birdied the par-4 hole three. Solters finished the weekend tied for 36th at 3-over.

Also tied for 36th individually was Blake Fitzhugh. After pacing the Kingsmen in the first round, Fitzhugh struggled to find his rhythm today on his way to a 77. Jacob Fox shot 3-over today, giving him a tournament score of 8-over.

Cal Lutheran will continue its fall season later this month at the Redlands Invitational on September 30 and October 1.
