VENTURA, Calif. - Cal Lutheran men's golf kicked off their fall season with a strong showing at the CA State Intercollegiate, finishing in second place among nine teams with a total score of +13 across three rounds.
Blake Fitzhugh led the Kingsmen with an impressive performance, securing fourth place individually. Fitzhugh carded rounds of 74, 73, and an outstanding 69 in the final round to finish at even-par (216).
Jerry Singh and Tanner Stewart also shined, both tying for fifth place at 1-over-par. Singh was consistent with scores of 71, 74, and 72, while Stewart rebounded from a second-round 75 to shoot a closing 70.
Adam Cartozian (T-16th, +6) delivered a notable second round of 69, while Jacob Fox and Hudson Solters each tied for 20th at +7, helping the Kingsmen secure their top-two finish.
Other contributors included Ryan Mattivi and Luke Rimkunas, who tied for 23rd at +8, and Tyler Meister, who finished tied for 31st at +12. Dylan Mott (+13) and Aidan Allen (+15) also provided valuable rounds.
The Kingsmen will look to build on this momentum when they head to the Benedictine Invitational in Kanasville, Wisconsin, in two weeks.
