REDLANDS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's golf tied for fourth, with
Anna Poulin tying for fifth, at the Bulldog fall invite which was hosted Monday and Tuesday at the Morongo Tukwet Golf Club.
The tournament featured nine teams and 55 individuals. The teams shot 18 holes each day. The Regals totaled 317 strokes on day one and improved to 310 on day two. They finished at 22-over-par with 627 strokes.
"I was so excited for the strong finish today that our women's team had today at Redlands," said head coach
Jeff Lindgren. "We were led by freshman
Anna Poulin with a two-day total of 148 which puts her tied for sixth in school history for a 36-hole score. We will continue to work hard each day to prepare for the Golfweek Fall Preview in Florida in a few weeks."
Poulin led the way for the Regals as she tied for fifth. She fired a 1-under-par 71 in the first round. She carded a 77 in round two and finished at four over par with 148 strokes.
Maya dela Rama made it 2 regals in the top 20. She recorded a 79 on Monday and improved with a 75 on Tuesday. She finished with 154 strokes for a score of 10 over par.
Ashley Zook tied for 33rd and
Kaylie Hesse and
Brooke Alderson were right behind her and tied for 35
th. Zook (81-83-164) had a score of 20-over-par while Hesse (86-79-165) and Alderson (86-79-165) were 21-over-par.
Victoria Ruiz competed as an individual and tied for 43
rd (88-83-171).
The Regals have one more tournament in the fall. With being ranked in the top 25 last season, they were invited to compete in the Golfweek Fall Preview on October 15-17.
