LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. – After helping lead the Cal Lutheran women's soccer team to a perfect 3-0 opening weekend, fifth-year midfielder
Olivia Suarez has been named the first SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week of the 2026 season.
Suarez was at the heart of the Regals' dominant weekend, scoring four of the team's seven goals and adding an assist for nine total points across three matches. She recorded seven shots, putting five on target, as Cal Lutheran outscored its opponents 7-0 while recording three consecutive shutouts.
The fifth-year opened the weekend with two goals in Cal Lutheran's victory over George Fox before delivering another two-goal performance and adding an assist against Illinois Tech.
Behind Suarez's offensive production and a suffocating defensive effort, the Regals opened the season 3-0 for the first time since 2016.
Suarez and the Regals return to action Friday, September 11, at 5 p.m. PT, when they travel to Seguin, Texas, to take on the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Cal Lutheran will then face Texas Lutheran on Sunday, September 13, at 11 a.m. PT.
