MONTEREY PARK, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's and women's swimming and diving continued competition at the 2026 SCIAC Championships on Friday, with the Kingsmen leading the way on day three inside the East LA College Swim Stadium.
Zach Zauhar-Kurr delivered the top individual finish of the night, placing fifth in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:00.86.
Markus Stegbuchner also added to the team total in the 100 breaststroke, finishing 10th overall in 56.64.
The Cal Lutheran men closed the evening with a strong showing in the 200 freestyle relay, as the quartet of
Andreas Nordlund,
Tristan Serrano,
Connor Overton, and
Paul Patterson combined for a time of 1:23.74 to take fourth place and cap the night on a high note.
Through three days of competition, the Kingsmen sit sixth in the team standings with 207 points.
On the women's side,
Maddie Greig led the Regals in the afternoon session, placing seventh in the 3-meter diving finals with 326.85 points.
Victoria Lawrence recorded a 10th-place finish in the 100 butterfly (58.10), while
Abbey Kantz added a 10th-place effort in the 200 free with a time of 1:55.41.
Owan Fralick followed with a 10th-place finish in the 100 backstroke, touching in 59.15.
The Regals also turned in a fourth-place performance in the 200 freestyle relay, as
Madi Bodhidatta, Lawrence, Fralick, and Kantz combined for a 1:36.37 to close out the night.
After three days, the Regals move into fifth place in the team standings with 234 points.
Cal Lutheran returns to the pool on Saturday, February 21 for the final day of competition, beginning with prelims at 9 a.m., followed by the evening championship finals.
