Cal Lutheran men's basketball is bringing in a new member to its coaching staff ahead of the 2025-26 season, as
Danny Giangrande has been hired as a new assistant coach next to
Russell White and staff.
A native of White Plains, NY, Giangrande heads out west after a two-year stint with the men's basketball program at North Dakota State University where he served as an assistant coach, specializing in video and analytics.
Before NDSU, Giangrande was a graduate assistant at the University of Missouri during the 2021-22 season. Prior to that, he served as a student manager for the St. John's (NY) men's basketball team from 2016-21 while earning his bachelor's degree in sport management.
On his new hire, White said "I'm excited to bring Danny's expertise in analytics and video to our program as well as prepare him for the next step in his coaching journey."
"Coach White has built an impressive program here at Cal Lutheran, and his great reputation in the basketball community as a person and as a coach made coming to Thousand Oaks to learn under him an easy decision," said Giangrande. "I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to help this program continue to grow, and could not be more excited to start practice."
The Kingsmen will kick off their season on November 12 at Oberlin in Ohio.
