Danny Giangrande joined Russell White’s staff prior to the start of the 2025-26 season. In his role with the Kingsmen, Coach Giangrande oversees opponent scouting and analytics, as well as assisting with recruiting, practice, and operations. Giangrande also serves as the head coach for Kingsmen development league games.
The 2025-26 Kingsmen qualified for the SCIAC tournament for the 5th consecutive year, finished 10th in the country in assist percentage, were 27th in the country in 3PT field goals made per game, and were represented on the All-SCIAC Team by Jaden Young (2nd Team).
Prior to arriving in Thousand Oaks, Coach Giangrande spent 2 seasons at North Dakota State as an assistant coach, specializing in video and analytics. In his role with the Bison, Giangrande was responsible for finding ways to teach modern basketball concepts and strategies through practice drills, as well as to assist with navigating the transfer portal at the mid-major level. During his second season in Fargo, NDSU won 21 games, finished 8th in Division 1 in offensive efficiency, and was the number 1 team in the country in 3PT field goal percentage. The 2024-25 Bison also saw 4 All-Summit League selections in Jacksen Moni (1st Team), Jacari White (2nd Team), Tajavis Miller (6th Man of the Year), and Masen Miller (Honorable Mention). Moni spent the 2025-26 season suiting up for the Santa Cruz Warriors (NBA G-League).
Giangrande spent the 2021-22 season as a graduate assistant for the University of Missouri Tigers. In this role, he oversaw all video operations and assisted on all opponent scouting reports, as well as with player development workouts. The Tigers had an All-SEC selection in Kobe Brown (2nd Team), who was later selected in the 1st round of the 2023 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers.
Giangrande got his start in college basketball as a student-manager for the St. John’s University Red Storm from 2016 to 2021. Under two coaching staffs, he learned to assist with video, analytics, and also served as a graphic design intern, which involved creating graphics for high school and transfer recruits and assisting with recruiting visits.
A 2021 graduate of St. John’s University, Giangrande holds a bachelor’s degree in sport management. Giangrande received a master's degree in natural resources from the University of Missouri in 2023, after spending the 2022-23 academic year as a graduate teaching assistant.
