SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's cross country ran the 8k at The Master's XC Invitational on Saturday morning, finishing in 20th.
Adrian Rodriguez led the Kingsmen with a time of 28:40.6, while
Vincent May and
Ian Skrinde set course bests at 29:57.8 and 36:16.9, respectively. May's was a lifetime personal record.
After a few weeks off since beginning the season in Ventura in late August, the Kingsmen started their 8k at 8am in Santa Clarita. Rodriguez placed 154th to pace Cal Lutheran, then
Daniel Velasquez and
Jacob Witt finished soon after at 29:03.4 and 29:11.8, respectively.
Great runs from May and Skrinde added some highlights for the Kingsmen. Velasquez, Witt,
Thomas Illson,
Tristan Kanner,
Quintin Wilson, and
Noah Mullins all competed in the first 8k of their Cal Lutheran careers.
The Kingsmen will next compete at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite in Claremont on October 4.
