SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's and women's track and field combined for 17 top-five finishes at the Westmont Classic on Saturday, highlighted by 22 personal bests and more movement throughout the program's all-time lists.

Cheyanne Rodriguez led the way with a trio of impressive performances in the throwing events. She took third in the hammer with 45.07m to move up to seventh all-time for the Regals, while also claiming sixth in the javelin (32.21m) and seventh in the discus (29.03m).

On the track, Summer Gelman was the runner-up in the mile with 5:08.97, and Jodie Oparanaku finished third in the 100m hurdles with 16.61. Gracie Gervacio also added a pair of top-fives, taking third in the 100m (12.63) and fourth in the 200m (26.73).

Rounding out the field events were Taylor Dominguez (third, 1.55m) and Fatima Cervantes (fourth, 1.50m) in the high jump, and Niani Jones (fourth, 10.37m) in the triple jump.

For the Kingsmen, Camden Hyde dominated in all three jumps events. He was the runner up in the high jump with 1.90m, and claimed third place in the long jump and triple jump with 6.72m and 12.53m, respectively.

Drew Nees and Aidan Crawford also had strong showings as Nees took fourth in the high jump with 1.85m and Crawford was fifth in the long jump with 6.50m.

Also securing top-three spots were Sebastian Sawyer (second, 10:26.97) in the 3000m steeple and Dominic De Leon (third, 1:00.92) in the 400m hurdles.

The teams will compete next at the SCIAC Quad Cup Final on Saturday, March 29 at 10:30 AM.
