MONTEREY PARK, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's and women's swimming and diving wrapped up their SCIAC Championship run with another historic night, breaking two more program records and appearing on the podium four times.
The Regals finished fourth overall with 417 points, while the Kingsmen claimed fifth placed with 314.
Kendall Moffitt led the women with a record-breaking swim in the 1650 free, touching the wall in 17:23.45 to claim third place and set a new CLU best. This is the second time this season that she has broken her own record, shaving off almost five seconds from the mark she set in November.
Cam Alexander also cracked the program's top-10 in the event with an eighth-place finish at 17:55.30.
Moffitt later joined
Madi Bodhidatta,
Faith Timney, and
Breann Bracken in the 400 free relay, where they placed third with a new school record of 3:29.51. The previous mark has stood since the 2023 championships, where Bodhidatta, Timney, Bracken, and
Alice Peterson ('24) finished with 3:30.98.
Individually, Bodhidatta and Bracken finished ninth (52.21) and tenth (52.38) in the 100 free, both securing top-10 program times.
Julia Benko (2:07.01, 9th) and
Owan Fralick (2:10.61, 14th) did the same in the 200 back, while
Tori Portillo placed 11th in the 200 breast (2:27.18) and Moffitt was 8th in the 200 fly (2:12.87) to join the CLU leader board.
On the men's side,
Lincoln Hall capped off his dominant week with a first-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (1:59.43), with
Markus Stegbuchner following closely behind in second (2:00.87). Both times rank among the best in program history.
Sebi Petho had a strong performance in the 1650 free, finishing seventh with 16:22.98 for a CLU top-10 mark.
McKay Nelms added another top-10 swim in the 200 back with a sixth-place finish in 1:53.58.
The Kingsmen's 400 free relay team of
Andreas Nordlund,
Evan Encell,
Caelan Jack, and Hall placed sixth with a time of 3:06.99. Nordlund also secured a top-10 program mark in the 100 free, placing 12th with 46.05.
With multiple school records falling and numerous top-10 performances, the Kingsmen and Regals have closed out an incredible season. A select few athletes look to compete at the NCAA Championships, which are held on March 19-22 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
