CLAREMONT, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's and women's track and field competed at the Pomona-Pitzer Salo & Crenna Invite on Saturday afternoon, combining for 14 top-five finishes.
For the Regals,
Taylor Dominguez and
Summer Gelman both reached CLU all-time top-10 marks. Dominguez was fourth in the pole vault with 3.35m which ties for third all-time, and Gelman finished fifth in the 3k with 10:29.95 which is sixth.
Fatima Cervantes impressed as the runner-up in the high jump with 1.55m, while also finishing fifth in the 400m hurdles with 1:17.52. The women added three more second-place finishes with
Niani Jones in the triple jump (10.87m),
Cheyanne Rodriguez in the hammer throw (38.60m), and
Ellie Sinclair in the 400m hurdles (1:13.85).
Rounding out the day for the Regals was
Jennyfer Hernandez Rosas,
Gracie Gervacio,
Bella Fuentes,
Gabriela Pullen in the 4x400m relay. The group finished third with 4:28.13.
Darrin Parham and
Drew Nees led the way for the Kingsmen, claiming their only three top-five marks. Parham was third in the triple jump with 12.50m and fifth in the long jump with 6.23m, and Nees tied for second in the high jump with 1.85m.
Cal Lutheran will continue its season with a road trip to Arizona. The teams are set to compete at the NAU Tune Up on Friday, February 21.
