MOORPARK, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's and women's track and field opened the 2025 season at the Moorpark College Invite on Friday afternoon.
The Regals claimed seven event wins on the day and the Kingsmen had one, highlighted by
Summer Gelman's first place finish in the 3k. She ran a 10:38.75, which marks the 8th fastest 3k time in school history.
Niani Jones and
Cheyanne Rodriguez led the women with two wins each. Jones was first in the long jump with 5.10m and the triple jump with 10.75m, while Rodriguez took the hammer throw with 38.16m and the javelin with 29.96m.
Bella Fuentes and
Taylor Dominguez also added to the Regals' victories, with Fuentes coming in at 52.00 in the 300 hurdles and Dominguez reaching 2.85m in the pole vault.
For the Kingsmen,
Drew Nees won the high jump with 1.85m.
