THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's swimming and diving (0-1, 0-1 SCIAC) competed in its first dual meet of the 2025-26 season, hosting Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday morning.
Tristan Serrano set a lifetime best in the 100y butterfly, and
Camden Franjieh scored personal bests in the 1m and the 3m. The Kingsmen fell to the Sagehens 205-81.
Kyle Lee, a freshman from Pasadena, placed third in the 100y breaststroke with a time of 1:00.20, narrowly outpacing a Pomona-Pitzer swimmer by 0.12 seconds.
A few events later, there was some drama in the 50y freestyle.
Andreas Nordlund finished at 21.75, just one-hundredth of a second behind the Sagehens swimmer who won the event.
Connor Overton placed third at 22.44.
Markus Stegbuchner (2:13.99),
Keegan Lisenby (2:14.67), and
Ian Reece (2:14.98) placed second, third, and fourth, respectively, in the 200y breaststroke.
Serrano remerged victorious in the 100y butterfly with a time of 51.75, just 0.16 ahead of the next swimmer. The low time marked the best of the freshman's lifetime.
To end the day, the relay team of
Evan Encell, Serrano, Overton, and Nordlund placed second in the 400y freestyle at 3:12.67.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the pool, Franjieh, a freshman, set personal bests with scores of 207.00 in the 1m dive and 261.68 in the 3m dive.
The Kingsmen will be back in action this Saturday morning at Whittier.
