CLAREMONT, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's and women's cross country closed out their 2024 regular season on Saturday morning, competing at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.

Brett Halvaks said, "We competed hard and I am proud of all they accomplished. We look forward to using these next two weeks to prepare for SCIAC Champs".
Sebastian Sawyer was the first Kingsmen to cross the finish line, placing 39th with a time of 27 minutes and 38.1 seconds.
Eric Talbert and
Logan Bury made it three Kingsmen in the top 50. Talbert was 41st as he clocked a time of 27:43.0, and Bury was 44th with 27:54.9. His time was 21st all time for Cal Lutheran on the course.
Bury added, "The team executed very well today with great racing tactics. It's gonna set us up to drop some big numbers at the SCIAC championships".

Nicholas Moore,
George Gaitanis,
Diego Romero,
Joe Lopez Vasquez,
Agam Toor,
Vincent May, and
Ian Skrinde also raced for the Kingsmen. The team placed 6th with 147 points. Rodriguez was 51st with 28:35.71, Moore was 57th with 29:01.0, Gaitanis was 68th with 30:11.9, Romero was 77th with 31:42.9, Vasquez was 78th with 31:56.5, Toor was 81st with 33:24.6, May was 82nd with 33:52.2, and Skrinde was 83rd with 36:59.0. Moore and Vasquez both ran lifetime personal bests.
Summer Gelman was the top Regal on the women's side. She clocked a time of 22:28.0 and placed 9th. Gelman's time was 3rd all time for Cal Lutheran on the course. Nataly Vigil Tello was next, placing 49th with 24:45.8. Her time was 21st all time on the course for the Regals.

Kendall Fleming. The team finished in 6th place with 143 points. Orwin was 54th with 24:57.6, Hautekeete was 57th with 25:13.3, Diaz was 66th with 27:07.2, Sinclair was 70th with 27:18.0, Prieto was 74th with 28:34.4, Edwards was 76th with 29:28.4, Coltvet was 77th with 30:29.1, Garcia-Work was 78th with 31:32.5, and Fleming was 79th with 31:41.5. Nine of the eleven Regals ran lifetime personal bests.
Now, Cal Lutheran will turn their attention to the SCIAC Championships. The race is set for Saturday, November 2nd.
