CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Cal Lutheran baseball team battled both the weather and Pomona-Pitzer on Friday afternoon at Alumni Field, where they came away with a 9-1 victory over the Sagehens.

Ramsey Abushahla launched a two-run homerun to centerfield to put the Kingsmen on the board in the top of the third inning, scoring Davey Casciola who led off the frame with a double. CLU added two more runs in the seventh inning after Casciola hit a two-run homerun of his own to center for his fifth blast of the season.
The Sagehens added a run in the seventh but the Kingsmen offense blew the game wide open in the top of the ninth with five runs on six hits to secure the win.
Trey Saito improved to 6-2 this season after allowing just five hits and no earned runs while striking out five in 6.2 innings pitched. Nate Wehner and Mitchell Shields provided shutout innings of relief out of the bullpen.
Eddie Villegas and Casciola led CLU at the plate with three hits apiece while Abushahla added two hits and three RBI's. Chad Clark, Weston Clark, Jimmy Jauregui and Justin Caña added the other hits for the Kingsmen.
Next Up: Due to rain, Cal Lutheran (19-8, 13-3) will return to Ullman Stadium on Sunday, to complete the series with the Sagehens with a doubleheader beginning at 11:00 a.m.
