ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Cal Lutheran baseball was represented by two Kingsmen in the 2026 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) postseason awards, as announced by the conference this week. Junior third baseman
Philip Jeong and senior outfielder
Daniel Orozco each earned Second Team All-SCIAC honors following standout seasons for the Purple & Gold.
Jeong, a junior third baseman from Valencia, California, established himself as one of the top hitters in the SCIAC this season while serving as a staple in the Kingsmen lineup and at third base. He played in 38 games with 36 starts and led the team with a .437 batting average, which ranked fifth in the SCIAC and fourth all-time for a single season in Cal Lutheran program history.
A consistent presence on the basepaths all season long, Jeong also led the team and ranked second in the SCIAC with a .515 on-base percentage. He totaled a team-high 59 hits, ranking fifth in the conference, while adding nine doubles, 28 RBIs, and 32 runs scored. He also drew 20 walks and stole nine bases, tying for eighth in the SCIAC.
Jeong recorded 17 multi-hit games throughout the season, including two four-hit performances, and was held without a hit in just five games all year. His consistency at the plate helped power the Kingsmen offense throughout the 2026 campaign.
Orozco, a senior outfielder from Fillmore, California, earned Second Team All-SCIAC honors after serving as another staple in the middle of the Kingsmen lineup this season. He played in and started 38 games while finishing fourth on the team with a .308 batting average.
Orozco totaled 41 hits, the third-most on the team, while adding eight doubles, two triples, and three home runs. He ranked second on the team with 34 RBIs and scored 35 runs, posting a .466 slugging percentage alongside a .466 on-base percentage.
He also drew 25 walks and added seven stolen bases, consistently producing offensively while helping lead the Kingsmen throughout the season.
As a team, Cal Lutheran finished the 2026 season with a 23-17 overall record and an 11-13 mark in SCIAC play, narrowly missing the conference postseason tournament.
