PASADENA, Calif. - Eleven different Regals found the back of the net Wednesday as Cal Lutheran evened its Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) record and beat Caltech 14-3. The Regals rushed out to a 4-0 lead in the first half and then totaled 17 steals to pick up its second road conference win of the season.
Up by four goals after the first half, Cal Lutheran pushed its lead to 6-1 with two goals in the second quarter. Caltech scored two goals in the second half but the Regals scored four goals in both the third quarter and fourth quarter to blow the game open.
Katelyn Dembowski led the way with three goals while KC Brendel had two. Jordan Card, Sami Harvey, Adrienne Ingalla, Kaylee Kastrup, Bailey Likewise, Tatiana McCuaig, Sara Simpson and Logan Young all scored for goals for the Regals as well.
Ingalla dished out four assists while Harvey and Young each had two. Sydney Foster led the Regals with two ejections drawn.
Defensively, Likewise led with four steals, Dembowski had three and Ingalla and Simpson each had two.
CLU goalkeeper Gina Merry tied Likewise with four steals and also collected five saves.
Cal Lutheran (7-19, 3-3 SCIAC) will look to go above .500 in the SCIAC whenn the Regals travel to Redlands on Saturday, April 12. The Bulldogs and Regals will square off at 11:00 a.m.
