REDLANDS, Calif. - Cal Lutheran women's water polo completed its regular season schedule with a 13-10 conference road loss to Redlands on Saturday. Tied at the half, the Bulldogs went on a 7-3 scoring run over the final two quarters to close out the game.

Both teams scored four times in the first and added two more in the second quarter creating a 6-6 tie at intermission. Redlands broke open the deadlock scoring three unanswered goals to take a lead it would hold on to through regulation.
Cal Lutheran closed to within a single score trailing 10-9 in the final frame, but Redlands scored three of the game's final four goals to hold off the rallying Regals. During that final UR scoring surge senior Jaime Nippert scored one of her game-high five goals.
Kehau Ai led the Cal Lutheran offense with three goals. Christina Messer scored twice and drew two exclusions, and teammate Adrienne Ingalla added a pair of goals and dished out two assists.
CLU starting goalkeeper Kylee Tomasetti made six saves in three quarters of action. Jessika Bell closed out the final eight minutes making two stops. Redlands net minder Julie Lupfer made six saves in the winning effort.
Cal Lutheran (16-10, 4-3 SCIAC) will face Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (12-15, 3-4 SCIAC) in the opening round of the SCIAC Championships on Friday, April 27, at Whittier. The Regals defeated the Athenas 10-3 in their regular season meeting in Thousand Oaks on April 7.
