ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Cal Lutheran softball was represented by three Regals in the 2026 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) postseason awards, as announced by the conference this week.
Jessica Waters earned First Team honors, while
Mia Reveles was named to the Second Team.
Riley Osborne was additionally recognized with the SCIAC Character Award.
Osborne, a junior outfielder from Pismo Beach, California, emerged as one of the most inspiring stories in the conference this season. After limited appearances in her first two years, she stepped into a starting role in 2026, playing in and starting 33 of the team's 37 games. She recorded her first collegiate hit in just the third game of the season against Chapman on February 15—coming off this year's SCIAC Pitcher of the Year, Rose Malen—and never looked back.
She delivered a standout performance against Hamline on March 11, going 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, and quickly established herself as a reliable presence in the lineup. Defensively, Osborne was a fixture in right field, making numerous diving and game-saving plays while consistently putting her body on the line.
Beyond her performance, Osborne's impact is rooted in her relentless character and perspective. Competing at the collegiate level with a limb difference, she embodies resilience, optimism, and selflessness. A Sports Management major, she is heavily involved off the field, working with children with disabilities and serving as a camp counselor for young athletes. Osborne is known for exemplifying success in competition, academics, and service, carrying a constant positive attitude while always putting the team first.
Waters, a junior first baseman from Spokane, Washington, elevated her game to earn First Team All-SCIAC recognition after back-to-back Second Team selections. Starting 34 games, she led the Regals with 22 RBIs, six home runs, 47 runs scored, and a .436 on-base percentage. She finished the season batting .337 with 33 hits and six doubles, while posting a 1.018 OPS and ranking among the conference leaders in multiple offensive categories.
A two-time SCIAC Athlete of the Week honoree this season, Waters proved to be one of the most feared hitters in the conference. She also anchored the defense at first base, recording a conference-best 257 putouts. Now with 92 career hits, she enters her senior season poised to reach the 100-hit milestone.
Reveles, a junior outfielder from Goleta, California, made an immediate impact in her first season with the Regals after transferring from Santa Barbara City College. Serving as the team's everyday center fielder and leadoff hitter, she started 35 games and led the team in several key offensive categories.
She posted a .376 batting average with 44 hits, 28 runs scored, and a 1.020 OPS, while adding five doubles, four triples, and four home runs. Her four triples tied for the conference lead, and her 12 stolen bases ranked among the SCIAC's top five. Known for her ability to spark the offense, Reveles frequently set the tone with leadoff home runs.
On the field, she was the leader of a dynamic outfield unit, making consistent, high-impact plays in center while covering significant ground. Her presence helped solidify one of the team's strongest defensive areas throughout the season.
Together, the trio highlights a well-rounded and resilient Cal Lutheran squad, with each Regal making a significant impact both on and off the field during the 2026 campaign.
