LA CROSSE, Wis. – Cal Lutheran men's track and field senior
Michael Holland wrapped up a historic season on Thursday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, competing in the preliminaries of the men's 200 meters.
Holland finished 16th overall with a time of 21.60 after entering the championship meet as the 17th seed with a qualifying mark of 21.10. The top nine finishers advanced to Saturday's final.
The appearance capped off a remarkable lone season in a Kingsmen uniform for Holland, who became Cal Lutheran's first male sprinter to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in at least two decades.
Throughout the spring, Holland consistently rewrote the program record book and established himself among the top sprinters in school history. He finishes his career ranked second all-time at Cal Lutheran in the 200 meters and third all-time in the 100 meters.
