THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's tennis student-athletes
Carlo Drewelow,
Maxence Faniel, and
Raphael Simon have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, recognizing their excellence both on the court and in the classroom.
Drewelow, a junior from Potsdam, Germany, carries a perfect 4.00 GPA as a computer science major. He posted a 6-11 singles record while competing in all but one match at the No. 5 position this season. In doubles play, Drewelow went 5-12 primarily alongside Simon at the No. 2 spot.
Faniel, a sophomore transfer from Wayne State and native of Theux, Belgium, also owns a perfect 4.00 GPA while majoring in business administration-finance. He finished the season 10-12 in singles competition, playing all but one match at No. 4, and added five doubles victories at the No. 1 position with
Ethan Sherwood.
Simon, a senior from Marseille, France, holds a 3.78 GPA as a business administration-finance major. He recorded three singles wins while competing primarily at the No. 3 spot after beginning the year at No. 2. Simon also partnered with Drewelow throughout the season at No. 2 doubles.
The honor marks the first CSC Academic All-District recognition for all three Kingsmen.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's Tennis Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom across NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA.
To be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and compete in at least 75 percent of their institution's team matches throughout the season.
