THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's tennis closed out the 2026 season on Saturday morning, falling 7-0 to No. 32 Redlands on Senior Day.
The Bulldogs took control early by sweeping doubles play to secure the opening point. The closest contest came at No. 2, where
Carlo Drewelow and
Raphael Simon battled to a tiebreak but ultimately fell 7-6 (7-3).
In singles, Cal Lu fought to extend several matches but was unable to break through against the Redlands' lineup.
Toki Adachi pushed his match at No. 2 to a third-set tiebreak, while Simon also forced a deciding set at No. 3, highlighting the Kingsmen's competitiveness despite the final score.
The loss closes the season for Cal Lutheran with a 4-11 overall record and a 1-6 mark in SCIAC play.
Saturday's match also marked the final chapter for the senior class of
Jake Anderson,
Matthew Goldstein,
Ethan Sherwood,
Mateo Sonaglia, and Simon, who helped guide the program through the 2026 campaign.
Though the results proved challenging, the Kingsmen showed resilience throughout the year while continuing to build toward the future.
