ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – With the 2025-26 season officially in the books, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced its postseason men's basketball honors, and Cal Lutheran was well represented. Senior
Ze'ev Remer earned one of the conference's top individual distinctions, while junior
Jaden Young picked up All-SCIAC recognition for his standout campaign.
Remer was named the Ted Ducey Award recipient, awarded each year to a senior who best exemplifies the high ideals demonstrated by former Claremont College head basketball coach Ted Ducey. The award recognizes Remer as the SCIAC player who has displayed the "utmost use of their academic ability". The recipient is recognized as a well-rounded basketball player who has demonstrated, in conference play, the following criteria: ability, leadership, self-discipline, determination, sportsmanship, and academics.
Remer, who was the model of consistency coming off the bench over his first three seasons with the Purple & Gold, provided that same leadership and grit as the team's starting point guard this season. Remer's 79 assists led the team, and his 2.6 assist/turnover ratio was good for best in the conference.
Additionally, Young earned Second Team All-SCIAC recognition. In his second year with the program, the guard became a force on offense for the Kingsmen, exploding down the stretch and helping Cal Lutheran secure a spot in the SCIAC Tournament. Young led the squad in points per game (12.5), three-point percentage (.430), and field goal percentage (.449), and was also second in minutes per game (24.3) and assists (47).
