LA VERNE, Calif. – Cal Lutheran women's swimming and diving (5-2, 4-2 SCIAC) went on the road against #13 CMS (6-4, 5-1 SCIAC) and La Verne (0-7, 0-7 SCIAC) in a SCIAC double-dual meet on Saturday, with the Regals beating La Verne 218-35 and losing to CMS 215-80.
Victoria Lawrence set a new program record in the 1000y freestyle, beating her own record set earlier this season.
Lawrence swam the 1000y freestyle in 10:35.90, shattering her own record and beating last year's SCIAC Champion in the 500y and 1650y freestyles to take an individual first-place. Later in the meet, she made another appearance on the school top-10 list, swimming the seventh-fastest time in the 400y IM at 4:44.03 and placing second in the meet.
Abbey Kantz came in second in the 200y freestyle with a time of 1:58.69.
Joli Fong set a personal best in the 200y butterfly at 2:16.05, good for a second-place individual finish.
Madi Bodhidatta tallied two individual first-place finishes on the day in the 50y (24.28) and 100y (53.10) freestyles.
Cal Lutheran will take a week off before continuing its SCIAC season with a dual meet at Occidental on January 31.
