Victoria Lawrence was named SCIAC Swimming Athlete of the Week (AOW) for her performance in the double-dual meet against Caltech and Redlands on Saturday, hosted at Cal Lutheran. She captured three first-place individual finishes and was part of a first-place relay team.
Lawrence, a freshman from Valencia, has already made history for the Regals in her first few collegiate meets. She holds the program record in the 1000y freestyle, and has the second-lowest time in school history in both the 1650y freestyle and the 100y butterfly. Lawrence also has the fourth-lowest time in the 500y freestyle.
On Saturday, Lawrence took first in the 200y (1:58.50), 500y (5:15.12), and 1000y (10:44.47) freestyles. She was also part of the group that won the 400y freestyle relay with a time of 3:42.95.
Lawrence played a huge part in getting two dual meet victories for Cal Lutheran, improving its head-to-head record to 4-1 and 3-1 in the SCIAC.
Lawrence and the Regals will be back in action on Saturday morning when they travel to La Verne to face La Verne and CMS.
