THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran women's swimming and diving (4-1, 3-1 SCIAC) hosted Caltech (5-3, 4-2 SCIAC) and Redlands (2-3, 1-3 SCIAC) in a SCIAC double-dual meet on Saturday, with the Regals taking victories over both opposing schools. Cal Lutheran beat Caltech 182-110, and it beat Redlands by a score of 210-83.
Victoria Lawrence,
Julia Benko, and
Madi Bodhidatta had big days, with each taking part in four first-place finishes.
The Regals kicked things off with a victory in the 200y medley relay as Benko,
Katie LaHood, Bodhidatta, and
Callahan White took first with a time of 1:52.41.
Then, Lawrence got going with first-place finishes in the 1000y (10:44.47) and 200y (1:58.50) freestyles. She later continued that trend with the quickest time in the 500y freestyle at 5:15.12.
Benko took her turn individually with a first-place finish in the 100y backstroke with a time of 1:01.40. She followed that up with another top finish in the 200y backstroke at 2:13.18.
Abbey Kantz, a recent addition to the team, took first place in the 50y freestyle with a time of 25.81.
Bodhidatta captured a pair of individual first-place finishes in the 100y freestyle (53.98) and the 100y butterfly (1:00.03).
To finish things off, the quartet of Bodhidatta, Lawrence, White, and Benko took first in the 400y freestyle relay with a time of 3:42.95.
Cal Lutheran will continue its SCIAC season with another double-dual meet at La Verne, joined by CMS, next Saturday.
