EAGLE ROCK, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's and women's track and field competed at the Occidental Invite last weekend, earning six top-five finishes and a new all-time mark across both teams.
Drew Nees turned in a strong performance in the high jump for the Kingsmen, clearing 1.90m to claim third place. In the triple jump,
Darrin Parham secured fourth with a leap of 13.11m.
Eric Talbert represented the distance squad, crossing the finish line at 15:57.82 in a deep 5k field.
For the Regals,
Taylor Dominguez delivered a top finish in the pole vault, tying for second with a clearance of 3.11m. She also earned a fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.45m, while
Fatima Cervantes claimed third at 1.50m, adding to her impressive day.
Cervantes also made her mark on the track, finishing fifth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:07.10, which was good for the ninth-fastest performance in Cal Lutheran history.
In the sprints,
Jennyfer Hernandez Rosas posted a time of 27.06 in the 200m, and in the 1500m,
Summer Gelman impressed with a time of 4:38.38.
The teams continue the season with two more meets before the NCAA Championships. Next up is the APU Last Chance on May 9 and 10.
