Carmen Bufkin and sophomore
Anya Rajan have been selected to the All-SCIAC Teams after an extremely successful season, as they led Cal Lutheran women's tennis to the SCIAC Semifinals for the first time since 2016.
Playing out of the #1 spot in both singles and doubles in every match this year, Bufkin competed against some of the best competition in the nation. She went 15-2 overall with a 5-1 record in the SCIAC in singles. In doubles, she and partner
Mina Ahmadi went 12-6 overall and 3-4 in the SCIAC.
In the most recent rankings, Bufkin appeared at #22 in the nation and #4 in the West Region in singles. In doubles, Bufkin/Ahmadi climbed all the way to the #6 doubles ranking in the West Region at one point in early April.
This is Bufkin's fourth-consecutive All-SCIAC honor after being selected to the First Team every year she has been a Regal, beginning in 2022.
Playing out of the #2 spot in singles and the #3 spot in doubles in most matches this year, Rajan also competed against some of the best competition around. She went 7-9 overall with a 2-5 record in the SCIAC in singles. In doubles, she and various partners, often
Luisa Garcia, went 9-5 overall and 3-4 in the SCIAC.
This is Rajan's first All-SCIAC honor as she was selected to the Second Team.
