MONTEREY PARK, Calif. – Cal Lutheran men's and women's swimming and diving combined for two new program records and three more top-10 swims on day two of the SCIAC Championships.
The Regals ended the day in third place with 219 points, and the Kingsmen are in seventh with 113.
Madi Bodhidatta led the way with a high NCAA B cut, as she placed third in the 50 free at 23.40. She now holds the team record for the event, which was previously owned by Grace Sanchez ('19).
The junior also helped the Regals' 200 free relay team secure an additional program record, earning a spot on the podium alongside
Owan Fralick,
Kendall Moffitt, and
Breann Bracken. The group finished third in the event with 1:35.38, surpassing the mark set by Bodhidatta,
Alice Peterson ('24), Bracken, and Paige Woodside at the conference championships in 2023.
Individually, Moffitt impressed in the 500 free as she took seventh with 5:07.15 to land on the Regals' top-10 list. Rounding out the women's diving events was
Brooke Blaylock, who was sixth off the 1m with 351.25 points.
For the Kingsmen, the 200 free relay team had the best result as
Andreas Nordlund,
Evan Encell,
Caelan Jack,
Zane Hermann claimed sixth place with 1:24.38.
Sebi Petho, Jack, and Nordlund each competed individually. Petho took 12th in the 500 free with 4:42.01 and Jack was 16th in the 200 IM with 1:54.73, both recording top-10 Cal Lu times, and Nordlund finished 15th in the 50 free with 21.32.
The championships continue on Saturday with the 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 400 medley relay, and men's 3m dive.
