Tessa French was named SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week (AOW) after two huge Cal Lutheran wins this past week. The senior from Lake Oswego, OR has played a huge role on the Regals' defense since transferring over from Boise State two years ago. This season, she has started in all 11 games for Cal Lutheran.
In Wednesday's matchup against Redlands, French played 81 minutes in the Regals' 4-1 victory. She got off two shots, one on-goal. In Saturday's game against Caltech, her senior day, French scored the first goal of the match as the Regals cruised to a 3-0 win. It was French's second goal of the season.
French became the third Cal Lutheran player to receive a SCIAC AOW this season, joining
Jessica Sprouse and
Keira Hazard.
