Box Score THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran women's soccer (7-2-1, 4-1-0 SCIAC) honored eight seniors prior to their 3-0 shutout of CalTech (1-5-1, 1-4) on Saturday.
After some back and forth between the Regals and Beavers, the Regals were able to make their way back down to the Beavers' defensive end. About 12 minutes into the game,
Tessa French scored the first goal of the game for the Regals, assisted by
Maya Blodgett.
Halfway through the first quarter,
Olivia Suarez buried the ball into the net, the second goal of the game by a senior, sending the game to halftime with the Regals up 2-0.
Going into the second half, the Regals had a challenging time finding the back of the Beavers' net.
However, the Regals, about 62 minutes in, broke through as
Keira Hazard scored the Regals' third goal of the afternoon.
In goal for the Regals,
Kelsey Slaugh protected the cage, tallying two saves, which helped contribute to the Regals' lead.
Reagan Keelan subbed into the cage, continuing what Slaugh had started. The Beavers were determined, but the Regals' defense held them off for the remainder of the game as the Regals secured the 3-0 shutout for their fifth straight win.
The Regals will be back in action Wednesday, Oct. 8 as they take on Whittier.
