CLAREMONT, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's and women's track and field competed at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite on Saturday.
The Kingsmen and Regals combined for six top-10 finishes. Sarah Bjornson and Niani Jones led the way as they placed fifth. Bjornson was fifth in the high jump as she cleared 1.55m and Jones was fifth in the long jump with a distance of 5.18m.
Jones and Camden Hyde were sixth, Hyde added a seventh-place finish and the Regals 4x100 relay was ninth. Jones was sixth in the triple jump with 10.61m and Hyde was sixth in the high jump with 1.85m. Hyde added his seventh-place mark in the long jump with 6.19m while the 4x100 relay team of Jennyfer Hernandez Rosas, Crystal Rosales, Aisha Mohammed Joji, and Carly Christensen clocked a time of 53.32 seconds.
The teams kept the top performances coming as four more marks were in the top 20. Darrin Parham and Cheyanne Rodriguez both finished 12th. Parham had a mark of 12.18m in the triple jump as Rodriguez had a throw of 39.73m in the hammer. Logan Abounader was 15th in the discus with 36.12m and Fatima Cervantes was 18th in the 400 hurdles with 1:12.26.
