THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's tennis took on the Occidental Tigers on Friday afternoon and fell by a final score of 6-3.
The Kingsmen were down 2-1 after doubles play. The Kingsmen took the No. 1 spot as Ethan Sherwood and Luop Sudre won 8-4.
The Tigers won the other two spots as James Truong and Andy Ai fell 7-8 (2-7) at the No. 2 and Jakob Buhler and Raphael Simon fell 7-8 (11-13) at the No. 3.
The Kingsmen won two of the six singles matches as they were defeated by the Tigers. Ai won the No. 4 spot 6-4, 6-3, and Jake Anderson won 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 6.
The Tigers took the remaining singles matches as Sherwood was defeated 3-6, 3-6 at the No. 1, Sudre fell 4-6, 0-6 at the No. 2, Simon was defeated 5-7, 6-4, 3-6 at the No. 3, and Truong fell 6-7(5), 4-6 at the No. 5.
The Kingsmen are back in action on Saturday at Whittier at 2 pm.
