ORANGE, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's tennis hit the road to face the No. 37 Chapman Panthers on Tuesday evening. The Panthers won the dual 8-1.
With the loss, the Kingsmen fell to 6-10 in conference and 1-4 overall.
The Kingsmen fell behind 2-1 after doubles play. The lone point for the Kingsmen came at the No. 1 doubles spot as Ethan Sherwood and Loup Sudre won 8-4. At the other two doubles spots, Raphael Simon and Andy Ai fell 5-8 at the No. 2 and Carlo Drewelow and Jakob Buhler were defeated 4-8 at the No. 3.
The Panthers continued to win the points in singles play. Sherwood fell 2-6, 5-7 at the No. 1, Sudre lost 6-3, 4-6, 5-10 at the No. 2, Simon was defeated 1-6, 3-6 at the No. 3, Ai fell 6-3, 4-6 5-10 at the No. 4, James Truong was defeated 2-6, 3-6 at the No. 5, and Jake Anderson fell 3-6, 2-6 at the No. 6.
Up next, the Kingsmen stay on the road and are at Pomona-Pitzer on Friday at 3 pm.
