THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — After a day full of rain and waiting, Cal Lutheran men's tennis took on the Redlands Bulldogs to wrap up Sunday. The Bulldogs defeated the Kingsmen 9-0.
With the loss, the Kingsmen fell to 1-3 in conference play and 6-9 overall.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a lead after doubles play. Ethan Sherwood and Luop Sudre were defeated 5-8 at the No. 1, Any Ai and James Truong fell 0-8 at the No. 2, and Raphael Simon and Jakob Buhler lost 6-8 at the No. 3.
The Kingsmen tried to bounce back in singles play but the Bulldogs were too much. Sherwood lost 3-6, 2-6 at the No. 1, Sudre fell 5-7, 4-6 at the No. 2, Simon was defeated 6-7(4-7), 4-6 at the No. 3, Ai fell 5-7, 5-7 at the No. 4, Truong lost 6-7(2-7), 3-6 at the No. 5, and Jake Anderson lost 1-6, 7-6(7-5), 5-10 at the No. 6.
The Kingsmen continue the season and conference play on Tuesday. They are at Chapman at 6 pm.
