THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's tennis picked up their fifth win this season as they dominated Jessup 7-2 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Kingsmen are now 5-1 on the season and have won three straight.
The Kingsmen found themselves down as they won one of the two points from doubles play. Raphael Simon and Jakob Buhler cruised to an 8-1 win. Jessup took a 2-1 lead heading into singles as Loup Sudre and Ethan Sherwood were defeated at the No. 1 and Andy Ai and James Truong fell at the No. 2.
The Kingsmen swept singles play as they came from behind to win the match. Sherwood, Ai, Simon, and Truong won in three sets. Sherwood took the No. 1 spot 5-7, 6-3, 7-5, Ai came from behind to win at the No. 2 spot 5-7, 6-2, 6-3, Simon claimed the No. 4 spot 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, and Truong won 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 at the No. 6.
The Kingsmen continued their domination as Sudre and Jake Anderson won in straight sets. Sudre won 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 3 spot and Anderson won 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 5.
The Kingsmen look to make it four straight wins as they host Vassar on Monday, March 4th, at 2 pm.
