LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Senior
Kendall Moffitt set a new program record in the 1650-yard freestyle as the Cal Lutheran swimming and diving teams competed at the Occidental College Invite on Saturday and Sunday.
Oxy and Caltech competed with Cal Lutheran in the meet, with the Kingsmen coming in second place with 755.5 points and the Regals taking first with 1162 points.
Both Cal Lu teams combined for 11 first place wins. The Regals won eight events while the Kingsmen picked up the remaining three.
Moffitt was the highlight of the weekend with her new record mark in the 1650 free. She held the previous record in the event with a 17:32.15 time, but raised the bar slightly higher after placing first this weekend at 17:28.11. She also won another individual event, finishing the 200-yard butterfly in 2:08.78, and helped her teammates
Madi Bodhidatta,
Breann Bracken, and
Maia Ciccarello to a first place finish in the 200 free relay.
Bodhidatta was also dominant in the pool, winning two individuals and three relays. She placed first in the 50 yard free with 24.07 and the 100 yard butterfly with 57.87, while taking the 400 and 200 yard medley relays alongside teammates

Tori Portillo,
Owan Fralick, and Bracken.
Fralick added one more individual win for the Regals with a 1:00.08 in the 100 yard backstroke, while first-year diver
Brooke Blaylock took second place on the 1-meter board with an NCAA zone qualifying score of 244.90.
On the men's side,
Caelan Jack,
Lincoln Hall, and
Sebi Petho led the way with one win each. Jack won the 200 IM with 1:55.28, Hall was first in the 100 backstroke with 55.88, and Petho took the 1650 free with 16:40.96.

Now, Cal Lutheran gets a short break before returning to the pool in January. Their next event will be the Chris Knorr Invite at their home pool on January 2, 2025.
