CLAREMONT, Calif. - On a windy Saturday afternoon, the Cal Lutheran men's tennis team traveled to No. 10 Pomona-Pitzer where the Kingsmen fell 8-1 at the hands of the Sagehens at Pauley Tennis Complex.
CLU kept it close after the initial doubles competition, trailing just 2-1, as Chris Hartman and Lucas Tilly paired up for an 8-6 win at No. 2 against Josh Kim and Kalyan Chadalavada. Gio Valdez and partner Jesper Lunding-Johansson battled at No. 1 in an 8-5 defeat while Dara Kashani and Michael Sulahian fell 8-4 at No. 3.
In singles action, the Sagehens swept the Kingsmen in straight sets, but Valdez, Kashani, Tilly and Sulahian were able to take three games apiece in at least one set to lead CLU on the day.
Up Next: Cal Lutheran (2-12, 1-4 SCIAC) will return to action tomorrow, Apr. 17 against Occidental at home in a rescheduled match against Occidental at 10:00 a.m.
