THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - With a full slate of non-conference action in the books, the Cal Lutheran men's tennis team returned to Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play on Friday, falling to No. 15 Redlands 9-0 at Poulson Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs got off to a quick 3-0 start after sweeping the doubles portion of the match and carried their momentum into singles. At No. 1 doubles, the Kingsmen pair of Gio Valdez and Jesper Lunding-Johansson held their own against the fifth-ranked pair in the region of Joey Dulle and Jake Ly, falling by a score of 8-3, while Chris Hartman and Lucas Tilly fell by the same score at No. 2. Dara Kashani and Michael Sulahian made it close at No. 3 doubles but eventually fell 8-5.

In singles, Redlands firepower was just too much as the No. 7 player in the region, Chase Lipscomb, edged past Valdez 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 and the remaining Bulldogs secured the sweep. Kashani provided the lone highlight for the Kingsmen in singles, taking a game from the No. 10 player in the region, Dulle, at No. 2 doubles.

Cal Lutheran (2-10) continues conference action tomorrow, Apr. 2 with a road match at No. 4 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
