THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - In their final non-conference match of the season host Cal Lutheran got the best of their visiting counterparts from Pacific Lutheran at the Poulson Tennis Center today earning an 8-1 victory.

Results: CLU 8, PLU 1 - F

The Regals took an early 2-1 lead after doubles play. CLU's No. 2 duo of Jordan Leckness and Lindsay Murphy got things started with an 8-2 win over Cora Wigen and Valery Jorgensen. In their first appearance together the No. 3 doubles team of Jacqueline Ramsay and Sarah Baker followed suit with an 8-6 victory over Allison McClure and Katherine Patton.



Cal Lutheran then cruised through singles play.

Ramsay won at the No. 6 match-up by 6-3 and 6-1 margins moments before Murphy closed out the singles sweep with 6-2, 6-0 wins.

Leckness had no trouble at the No. 4 spot, earning 6-0 and 6-1 wins and at the No. 1 spot Holly Beaman posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory. Baker and Carly Mouzes rounded out the afternoon with 6-4, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-1 victories, respectively.

In a close battle at the No. 1 double spot, Leah Newell and Tina Aarsvold got the best of Beaman and Mouzes, earning the only PLU point of the day with a score of 9-7.

The Lutes fall to 0-10 on the season.

Cal Lutheran (9-5) will be off the courts for the next couple of weeks before returning to SCIAC play on Wednesday, April 11 when they travel to Redlands. The Regals and Bulldogs will get underway at 3:00 p.m. in a make-up match from March 17.
