THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Nine Cal Lutheran student-athletes earned recognition on the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Cross Country and Track & Field, honoring their achievements both in competition and in the classroom.
The Regals were represented by
Summer Gelman,
Gracie Gervacio,
Jodie Oparanaku,
Gabriela Pullen, and
Sophia Green, while the Kingsmen earned selections in
Drew Nees,
Camden Hyde,
Wyatt Nowak, and
Michael Holland. Leading the group was Holland, who was selected to advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot following a historic senior season.
Gelman collected her second CSC Academic All-District honor while maintaining a 3.77 GPA as a sports communication major. The Agoura Hills native earned All-Region honors for the second consecutive cross country season after placing 26th at the NCAA West Regional Championships, helping the Regals finish 16th as a team, their best regional finish since 2019. During track season, she ranked among the region's top performers in the 1,500-meter run, 5,000-meter run, and steeplechase.
A sophomore marketing communication major from Puyallup, Washington, Gervacio earned the first CSC honor of her career with a 3.98 GPA. She finished the season ranked 17th in the region in the 100-meter dash and 29th in the 200-meter dash while also helping the Regals' 4x100-meter relay squad rank 24th in the region.
Oparanaku earned her second CSC Academic All-District selection with a 3.74 GPA. The psychology graduate from Las Vegas ranked 22nd in the region in the 100-meter hurdles and was part of the Regals' 4x100-meter relay team that posted a regional ranking of 24th.
Pullen picked up her first CSC Academic All-District honor while carrying a 3.86 GPA as a liberal studies in education major. The sophomore from Rancho Santa Margarita finished 36th in the region in the javelin with a season-best mark of 31.48 meters.
Green became a three-time CSC Academic All-District selection while maintaining a 3.68 GPA. The Oxnard native graduated with majors in biochemistry and molecular biology, philosophy, and global studies, and ranked 38th in the region in the hammer throw with a season-best mark of 39.26 meters.
On the men's side, Nees earned his second career CSC Academic All-District honor and first in track and field. The sophomore exercise science major from Portland, Oregon, carries a 3.96 GPA and ranked 10th in the region in the high jump after clearing 1.97 meters at the SCIAC Quad Cup Final.
Hyde secured his third career CSC Academic All-District selection and second in track and field while posting a 3.94 GPA as a communication major. The Meridian, Idaho native ranked 25th in the region in the long jump and 38th in the high jump during his junior season.
Nowak collected his second CSC Academic All-District honor with a 3.87 GPA. The senior criminology and criminal justice major from Thousand Oaks ranked 21st in the region in the hammer throw and 41st in the shot put, with both marks coming at the SCIAC Championships.
Holland earned the first CSC Academic All-District recognition of his career while carrying a 3.67 GPA as a business administration-economics major. The senior ranked seventh in the region in the 100-meter dash, fourth in the 200-meter dash, and 29th in the 400-meter dash. He captured the SCIAC championship in the 200 meters and became Cal Lutheran's first male sprinter to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in at least two decades. Holland went on to place 16th nationally in the event and concluded his career ranked second all-time at Cal Lutheran in the 200 meters and third all-time in the 100 meters. He will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes student-athletes for their combined success in competition and the classroom. To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and meet sport-specific athletic performance requirements.
