CLAREMONT, Calif. — Three Kingsmen logged double-digit points as Cal Lutheran (10-11, 5-7 SCIAC) fell on the road to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (19-2, 10-2 SCIAC) 80-56 on Wednesday night.
Cal Lutheran continued their hot stretch shooting in the first half, shooting about 45% from both the field (11-24) and from beyond the arc (5-11).
Cody Shen continued to shine, only missing one shot en route to 10 points in 11 minutes.
Matthew Verkamp scored an even dozen on 70% (5-7) shooting in the second half, scoring just under half of the Kingsmen's points to go with four rebounds.
Verkamp led the way with 16 points, six rebounds, and an assist on an impressive 64% (7-11) shooting.
Josh DeVore added 12 points, two rebounds, and two assists.
The Kingsmen will look to get back in the win column as they travel to Los Angeles on Saturday, Feb. 7 to take on Caltech at 2 p.m.
