ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Cal Lutheran University claimed two SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors following standout performances from
Troy Anderson and
Taylor Dominguez in their respective sports.
Baseball – Hitter
Anderson, a senior first baseman from Moorpark, California, powered the Kingsmen to a three-game sweep of Pacific Lutheran as CLU outscored the Lutes 45-10 over the weekend.
He hit .400 for the series with three runs scored, seven RBIs, one walk and zero strikeouts, delivering the most impactful run production in the lineup. After walking and scoring twice in the opener, Anderson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in game two before erupting in the finale, finishing 2-for-4 with his first career grand slam and a two-RBI single.
His seven RBIs and clutch hitting were instrumental in securing the sweep, which extends the Kingsmen's winning streak to five games entering SCIAC play this weekend.
The honor marks the first conference weekly award for Kingsmen baseball this season and the first of Anderson's career.
Women's Track & Field – Field
Dominguez, a sophomore from Thousand Oaks, California, delivered a strong all-around performance at the Westmont Warrior Relays, contributing key points in two field events.
The reigning SCIAC Newcomer of the Year cleared 3.20 meters to place sixth in the pole vault and added a fourth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.50 meters. Her efforts helped the Regals continue their strong start to the 2026 season in a meet that featured eight top-three finishes and more than 25 personal-best marks for Cal Lutheran.
Dominguez has now earned two SCIAC weekly honors in her young Regal career.
