Box Score REDLANDS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's basketball (8-6, 3-2 SCIAC) went on the road to take on the No. 12 ranked Redlands Bulldogs (11-2, 3-1 SCIAC), dropping the in-conference contest 97-62 on Saturday afternoon.
It was an uphill battle for Cal Lutheran out of the gate, who fell behind 16-0 before a jumper from
Matthew Verkamp got them on the board.
Sophomore
Aidan Crawford, a breakout star for the Kingsmen this season, totaled nine of Cal Lutheran's 16 first-half points.
Cal Lutheran kept it even in the second half, going toe to toe with Redlands 46-49.
First-year
Cody Shen led the Kingsmen in scoring in the second half with eight, a season high, often serving as a floor general, directing traffic to help Cal Lutheran keep it competitive. Shen also tied a season high in minutes with 23.
One of the lone bright spots for the Kingsmen, 13 players logged at least seven minutes played for the Kingsmen, a season high, with 10 scoring at least two points.
The Kingsmen will look to bounce back on Wednesday, Jan. 14 as they host the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags.
