Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Regals Sweep Pacific to Go 3-0 In Oregon

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Cal Lutheran women's volleyball (4-1, 0-0) took down Pacific in three sets on Saturday morning–25-22, 25-9, 25-20–behind a stellar game from Kaylee Clayton. The Regals won their fourth consecutive game and their third in as many games during the road trip up to Oregon.

The opening set was a back-and-forth affair, and Cal Lutheran found itself trailing 15-18 after a five-point run by Pacific (1-2, 0-0). The Regals responded by winning 10 of the next 14 points to claim the set. Tarin Rueckert provided three clutch kills and a service ace during that run.

Cal Lutheran dominated the second set, with Clayton leading the way. She totaled five kills and added a block as the Regals went on a 20-5 run to go up two sets to none.

The third and final set proved to be a competitive one, with six early lead changes before a Regals' 4-0 run, powered by a Clayton kill and a Keegan Corley service ace, put them up 20-16. The Boxers cut their deficit to two, but an Emily Ford kill, a Pacific attack error, and a Clayton kill captured the win for the Regals, a fitting end to a dominant performance from Clayton and Cal Lutheran.

Clayton ended with 15 of the Regals' 40 kills, while Ford provided five and Rueckert, Kennedy Smith, and Aby Tibesar each collected four. Tibesar, a transfer from Keiser, tallied her first kills as a Regal.

As a team Cal Lutheran recorded an impressive .297 attack percentage, highlighting the efficiency that the front row was playing with all morning.

Kylee Grimm and Makenna Kawamura once again split time at setter, with Grimm notching 15 assists and Kawamura logging 10. Corley added eight from the libero position.

Alex Hayes offered quality defense up front, producing three blocks. Clayton added two of her own.

Corley posted 20 more digs in this match, giving her 8.67 digs per set so far in 2025, putting her at first in the nation in digs in the early going. Alexis Holloway tallied a season-high 10 digs from the back row.

The Regals now look forward to hosting the annual Cal-Lu-Fornia invitational next weekend, kicking it off with a 7pm match against Covenant on Friday, September 12.
